14 Teams kämpften vom 1. bis 4. September um den begehrten Mannschafts-Titel. Aufgrund der Abwesenheit der "britischen Teams" England, Irland und Schottland, rückten andere Nationen in den Favoritenkreis. Spanien, Deutschland, Italien, Dänemark und sogar Team Austria durfte sich bei der Heim-EM Titelchancen ausrechnen.
Nach der ersten Qualifikations-Runde für die Matchplay-Tage bestätigten diese Teams ihre Ambitionen.
Die Matchplay-Bewerbe - von Viertelfinale bis Halbfinale - waren allesamt sehr hart umkämpft fast bei jeder Partie musste das Stechen an den Extralöchern die Entscheidung herbeiführen.
Nach den packenden Halbfinal-Krimis kreuzten sich im Finale Italien und Dänemark die Schläger.
Den EM-Sieg erspielte sich Team Dänemark mit einem nahezu fehlerfreien Schlusstag.
Platz 3 ging an Deutschland, gefolgt von Belgien. Team Österreich belegte Rang 7.
Bei der Siegerehrung waren sich alle Teams sowie Offiziellen der EGA einig: Ein mehr als würdiger Championship-Course - der European Tour Diamond Country Course.
